Instruct-ERIC and iNEXT-Discovery publish Structural Biology Methods Collection in JoVE

17-Nov-2021

Instruct-ERIC and iNEXT-Discovery have worked together to create an online methods resource for structural biology researchers.

The collection of methodology articles, published in a special methods-issue of the Journal of Visualised Experiments (JoVE), provides details on how to use specialised equipment – collated by experts in the field of structural biology and biochemistry.

Because of the Covid19-pandemic, traveling to iNEXT-Discovery and Instruct-ERIC research facilities has been largely impaired, essentially prohibiting hands-on training opportunities. To partially compensate for this, iNEXT-Discovery and Instruct-ERIC both arranged webinar series, as well as several training courses and remote workshops.

The published article provides an overview of the relevant techniques in structural biology – all of which are available to access via Instruct-ERIC. The article provides detail on how to use the technologies; essential for users who access the facilities, and providing supplementary information to Instruct internships and the training programme.

From routine to highly specialised techniques, the collection provides a broad range of methodologies for all researchers to utilise for their projects. For more information on applying for Instruct to utilise advanced structural biology equipment, submit an application or contact us.
