Royal Society Gabor Medal awarded to Instruct-ERIC Director Prof David Stuart

Congratulations to Instruct-ERIC director, Professor David Stuart, who has been awarded the prestigious Gabor Medal by the Royal Society. The Gabor Medal 2020 has been awarded to Professor Stuart for his seminal contributions to understanding virus structure and application to vaccine design, as well as driving the application of engineering and physical science to the life sciences.

The Gabor Medal is awarded annually for acknowledged distinction of interdisciplinary work between the life sciences with other disciplines. The award was created in memory of the engineer Dennis Gabor FRS, Nobel Prize winner and inventor of holography. The first award was made in 1989. The medal is of silver gilt, is awarded annually and is accompanied by a gift of £2,000.

Professor Stuart's achievement will be celebrated at Anniversary Day on 30 November 2020. The prize is awarded with a medal and gift of £2,000.
