A Postdoctoral Researcher to join Roger Castells-Graells’ lab at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). The successful candidate will work on innovative biomolecular designs for biomedical and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) applications, utilizing protein design, structural biology, and AI-driven tools. This research builds on recent advancements in protein design (Castells-Graells et al., 2023; Meador et al., 2024).
They are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated scientist with the following qualifications and experience:
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, biophysics, computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: protein biochemistry, molecular biology, virology, cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), or machine learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English.
Desirable Experience and Skills:
• Experience with Python and other programming languages is a plus.
• Experience in data analysis of single-particle cryo-EM images and/or tomography data is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with cryo-focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (cryo-FIB/SEM) is a plus.
