The 4-year studentship, based at Newcastle University in partnership with Diamond Light Source, combines structural biology, microbiology, AI-guided protein engineering and chemical analysis to establish the molecular basis of rare-earth element binding in lanthanophores and explore their use in biorecovery of REEs from environmental samples.
Funding: 100% Home fees plus a minimum tax-free stipend of £31,805/year (for students eligible for Home fee status).
