How do expanded CAG repeats make RNA toxic — and why are some repeat RNAs harmful while others are not? University of Utrecht are looking for a motivated PhD researcher to join the group of Prof. Christian Kaiser at the Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research, Utrecht University.
The project combines single-molecule biophysics, RNA biology and biochemistry, using optical tweezers and confocal fluorescence microscopy to uncover how HTT mRNA condenses and contributes to neurotoxicity.
Ideal for candidates with a background in (bio)physics, (bio)chemistry or related fields. Experience with single-molecule methods is a plus, but not required.
