The appointee will report day-to-day to the UCD Conway Director, working closely with the UCD Conway Directorate.
The UCD Conway Institute Proteomics Core is home to state-of-the art Mass Spectrometry Resources is dedicated to biological mass spectrometry, including quantitative proteomics, protein posttranslational modifications and protein-protein interactions, using a range of untargeted and targeted mass spectrometry platforms. The current equipment includes two Bruker TimsTOF-Pro, one Thermo Scientific Exploris 480, two Kingfisher robots for sample preparation. The facility spans a range of technologies from discovery proteomics including posttranslational modification, to the analysis of clinical samples and tissues. The intention is that the new appointee will enable UCD to extend our capability to include single cell and spatial proteomics, in conjunction with other omics capabilities. The facility turns over 5-6,000 samples a year and supports major strategic initiatives and grants, such as Investigator Led Research Ireland Frontiers Awards, Precision Oncology Ireland, and several EU grants.
The Proteomics Core is complemented by Core Technologies in advanced imaging, flow cytometry, digital pathology, genomics and metabolomics. This academic post will support a suite of Conway Core Technology Modules designed to support postgraduate learning and postdoctoral training.
