Infrastructure collaboration between Uruguay and Europe - An engine for bioscience commercialisation and health solutions

Meeting
Date: 24-Nov-2021

Contact: John Dolan

As part of an ongoing collaboration between Europe and Latin America by Instruct-ERIC and Euro-BioImaging ERIC, a meeting has been organised between representatives of both research infrastructures and the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo.

Instruct-ERIC has an ever-expanding relationship with Latin America, having signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with 10 Latin American institutions, and has done a lot of work in the context of the EU-LAC ResInfra project – including staff exchanges between LAC facilities and Instruct Centres, and the recent 2nd International Call.

This meeting between IP Montevideo, Academy of Finland, Euro-BioImaging ERIC, policy makers in Finland and Uruguay, and Instruct-ERIC, will facilitate discussion on creating a Regional Hub in Latin America, providing a base for EU-LAC researchers to come together for future collaborative work.

Sir David Stuart, Instruct-ERIC Director, will play a key role in the discussions surrounding the regional hub, as well as ongoing collaborations between European research infrastructures and Latin American institutions.
