Nominations are invited for the Ivano Bertini Award 2026 for significant achievements in any area of integrated structural biology. Nominations must be submitted by 5pm (CEST) 31 July 2025, and will be presented at the Instruct Biennial Conference 2026 in Brussels, Belgium
Instruct-ERIC provides access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology to support research in structural biology. Our aim is to encourage and facilitate the integrative use of technologies and methodologies that are available at Instruct Centres.
Academic and commercial scientists from Instruct Member Countries and organisations can apply for funded access to structural biology technologies. Researchers worldwide can apply for self-funded access - apply to find out more.
In addition to the R&D call for early career researchers (ECR), in 2025 Instruct offers funding for projects in technology development (TechDev) within a specific area of integrated structural biology, up to a maximum of €30,000 per project.

Timeframe: The application and review process is efficient, transparent and quick. We aim to turn around applications within 6 weeks.
When to apply: Applications for access can be submitted at any time.
Proposal application steps: There are six steps to the online application process, and you are guided through them step by step.
Integrative structural biology: Instruct advocates integrative structural biology, where multiple techniques give particular breadth to research, although we are happy to accept proposals for both single or multiple technologies.
Funding for travel and accommodation: For scientists from Instruct member countries, Instruct-ERIC can support up to 400€ of travel and accommodation costs or sample shipment costs for access visits (€ 450 for physical visits if you do not travel by air).
Access costs to the users: Users will cover the costs associated with their visit directly to the Instruct facility.
Who qualifies: All academic and commercial scientists can apply for access.
