To be eligible for this call you must be a researcher based at an Italian institution.
Accepted projects will need to be finalised within 5 months following proposal acceptance. You will need to have your sample(s) ready to start your visit to the Instruct facility immediately.

Timeframe: Please allow up to 1 month from the call closure for the review process.
When to apply: Applications for this access call can be submitted up until February 19th 2025 at 1pm CET.
Users should apply only when they are ready to make use of the Instruct facility (samples ready). Users are required to finalise their visit within 5 months after proposal approval. Applicants should demonstrate in their application that they can start with the access visit immediately (show preliminary data...)
Proposal application steps: There are six steps to the online application process, and you are guided through them step by step.
Integrative structural biology: Instruct advocates integrative structural biology, where multiple techniques give particular breadth to research. With that aim, Instruct and ITACA.SB offer through this access call financial support for researchers to access Instruct facilities that offer a wide range of services in the field of integrative structural biology.
Technology and Service support by the Instruct facilities: Due to the short timeline of this access call, proposals requesting access to a single technology will be prioritised. You can find Instruct maximum visit time/technology here (must be logged in to view).
Funding for travel and accommodation: Instruct-ERIC can fund the travel and accommodation for access visits. For more information on what Instruct-ERIC pays for, consult Funding for Access. For remote access, these funds can be used towards sample shipment costs.
Who qualifies: Academic and commercial scientists at Italian institutions can apply for funded access.

Criteria for selection: The main criteria for selection are scientific excellence, impact and feasibility of the research project. If needed, softer selection criteria might be taken into consideration by the selection panel such as: gender balance, new users vs frequent users, availability of resources in the home lab or facility usage .
