Hosting the 8th Instruct Biennial Structural Biology Conference 2028

Instruct-ERIC is accepting proposals for the 8th Instruct Biennial Structural Biology Conference (IBSBC) scheduled for 2028.

Instruct is a distributed European Research Infrastructure, which provides scientists with access to all major cutting edge technologies that enable biomacromolecular structure determination at atomic resolution. Access to all of these technologies has been available to European member researchers from February 2012.

The inaugural IBSBC at Heidelberg in 2013 successfully showcased integrative structural biology and its impact on biological research and biomedicine. Subsequent conferences were hosted in Florence (2015), Brno (2017), Alcalá de Henares (2019), Utrecht (2022), Cascais (2024), and the 7th Instruct Biennial Structural Biology Conference will take place in Brussels, Belgium 27 - 29 May, 2026. Belgium is home to Instruct Centre-BE, with Nanobodies4Instruct in Brussels and Robotein in Liége.

The IBSBC brings together 250 researchers in structural biology, with invited talks and poster sessions, as well as the opportunity for abstract speakers and student fellowships.

The social programme of the meeting will include a gala dinner and extensive opportunity to network with the Instruct Structural Biology community. The host Centre for the 8th Biennial conference should plan for a similar standard and scale.
