The Instruct-ERIC Centre in Spain has added a new service to the Instruct Image Processing Centre (I2PC), the FlexibilityHub.
The I2PC facility is part of CNB-CSIC, in Madrid, which forms Instruct Spain, and offers access to advanced Cryo-EM machinery and to novel image processing approaches. In that latter aspect, the new FlexibilityHub service is designed to provide a more expansive image processing analysis targeting the complex case of flexible macromolecules. It is designed to utilise a wide range of tools and methods to characterise discrete and continuous macromolecular flexibility from sets of Cryo-EM images following the Single Particle Analysis schema.
The FlexibilityHub allows the interoperation among several recent methods for flexibility analysis, including the I2PC developed Zernike3D approach. This is done within the framework of the SCIPION system, which provides a multi-package workflow-oriented platform bridging several software suites like Xmipp, EMAN, Spider, Relion, Bsoft, Frealign, ctffind and cryoDRGN, among others.
The FlexibilityHub service assumes that a more classical image processing analysis of the images has been performed already, like the Electron Microscopy Image Processing Service already offered by the I2PC. Find out more about the Cryo-EM workflow here.
