EOSC-Life Open Call: get funding for digital life science research projects
15-Sep-2020
What is EOSC-Life?
EOSC-Life brings together 13 Life Science Research Infrastructures (RIs) to create an open, digital and collaborative space for data resources and data processing workflows in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
What is EOSC-Life offering?
The EOSC-Life Open Call is offering funding and technical support and expertise to enable the delivery of complex, cloud-connected life science research projects. Projects should last approximately one year, and funding should cover approximately one full-time post equivalent for the duration of the project, depending on the project magnitude. The expertise offered by the EOSC-Life consortium will cover three main topics:
1. Data curation, handling and integration for publishing into the cloud
2. Tool interoperability, workflows and containerisation
3. Cloud deployment and resources
Who is eligible to apply?
Scientists working in academia and industry, associated with an institution eligible to receive EU funding are invited to apply to the Open Call. All scientists from Instruct centres and research sites will be eligible.
How do I apply?
To apply for the EOSC-Life Open Call, submit your project proposal via the
EOSC-Life Open Call Portal before 22 December 2020. Applicants should contact the EOSC technical experts via the application interface before the deadline for feedback on their proposal.
Proposals will be evaluated by scientific reviewers and technical experts based on the scientific quality and the technical feasibility of the project. Proposals should also align with EOSC’s aim to enhance sharing of FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data, and improving software within the scientific community.
