ARIA is the leading research infrastructure management system, developed by Instruct-ERIC. It is used for secure access provision, catalogue development, content management and much more, across a huge range of RIs in different fields. In order to ensure the smoothest, most effective service is provided for ARIA users, regular updates are made to the system. Take a look at the most recent release below.
The most immediately noticeable update to ARIA has been the all-new admin bar, displayed at the bottom of the screen. This bar now provides greater accessibility for new users finding the ARIA dashboard, and provides more information to returning users, including their profile status, direct access to the messaging network, as well as to the main ARIA dashboard. This is designed to make websites easier to navigate and carry more useful information.
The admin bar is on display at the bottom of all websites managed by ARIA. Users who have profiles with multiple RIs or projects can choose the site’s admin they would like to access from the admin bar itself, with the built-in site selector. This is also possible from the ARIA dashboard.
The ARIA dashboard may now look a little different for some users. It has been restructured to only display generic information, loading dynamically to ensure that the site runs more efficiently and quickly, saving users time.
Submission forms in ARIA are now more secure than ever. The new updates ensures that they time-out after one hour of inactivity. This is crucial when working with shared computers or with sensitive information, so remember to save forms at every opportunity in order to retain submission content.
ARIA is used by several research infrastructures and projects, with very different requirements and user-bases. ARIA is constantly being developed to ensure maximum compatibility for each project or RI, including white label websites, metatags for improved SEO, specific access calls, and several improvmenets to API and monitoring to improve site performance. ARIA also is behind SiteBuilder, the custom website creation tool currently being utilised by several European research projects for their websites. You can find more on our ARIA services here.
