West-Life authenticates users of its services via ARIA Single-Sign-On accounts. West-Life has chosen this partnership with ARIA, as it already has a large user base (more than 5,000) from the field of Structural Biology, and is expanding in other Life Sciences fields. In some cases, ARIA authentication runs in parallel to existing user registration systems which are specific to a particular site.

By registering for an ARIA account, you will gain access to a range of West-Life services, as well as services provided by other projects that have adopted ARIA. When you visit the first service in a browser session, you will be redirected to instruct-eric.eu where you can register or login. You will then remain logged in, and will have automatic access to all other ARIA-based services without having to log in again. Note however that the logged-in status will time-out after a certain period of inactivity, in which case you will be redirected again to the login page.

Development of ARIA has been initiated by Instruct, the European infrastructure for Structural Biology, and has also been supported by the Horizon2020 project iNEXT. ARIA is currently being used by many ESFRI and H2020 projects, including iNEXT, EuroBioImaging, CORBEL and EMBRIC.
