!!! The iNEXT-Discovery project ended on July 31, 2024 !!!
Many of our structural biology services will remain available through Instruct-ERIC.
iNEXT-Discovery structural biology services are not just for academics. Companies are essential for structural-biology driven innovation, and all researchers from industry - either small or large - are more than welcome to make use of our training and access opportunities. Below, our versatile offer for company researchers has been summarised. Don't hesitate to contact us directly for more information.
NETWORKING WITH INDUSTRY
One particular goal of the iNEXT-Discovery project is to make all European life scientists aware of the huge power of structural biology for translational research, innovation and exploitation. Besides discussing and dealing with apparatus manufacturers, for decades iNEXT-Discovery research facilities offer their services to researchers from companies. In fact, industry has always been keen to engage with facility staff, the expert users of the highest-end available structural biology equipment available.
Any company researcher that would like to receive information about high-end structural biology research methods and services, please contact our facility staff directly to discuss your great ideas and possibilities!
Industry PaneliNEXT-Discovery found several representatives of structural biology equipment manufactureres and service users from companies to form an independent Industry Panel. This versatile and active group is frequently found at and actively involved in our events. They assist us with discussions on demands, desires and suggestions to improve networking and to become increasingly attractive for facility access also for researchers from companies! |

TRAINING FOR INDUSTRY
All company researchers can benefit from our regular theoretical and practical courses and workshops and can visit iNEXT-Discovery facilities to receive hands-on training under expert supervision. If you are interested, please contact us.
FACILITY ACCESS FOR INDUSTRY
All access portals are open for researchers from academia and companies alike. Access services include fragment and ligand screening, but we imagine that also in many other situations the highest-end structural biology equipment and expertise available could be a good starting point for companies to address specific research topics!
Three different types of facility access
1. PAID-FOR ACCESS
After directly contacting a facility, company researchers can discuss access with local staff. Even after possible initial 'match-making' iNEXT-Discovery will be out of the equation, enabling the company and facility to negotiate details for "Paid-for-Access", with Confidential Agreements if desired.
If you're interested, please contact us directly or go look up facility contacts here!
2. THE 'INDUSTRY-PUBLISH' ACCESS PORTAL
For projects that are only a bit privacy- or IPR-sensitive, company researchers are invited to submit proposals. These will be evaluated by external reviewers who signed Confidentiality Agreements and will be the only externals that see your proposal. After acceptance the proposal is forwarded to the requested facility.
For this type of access, EC-regulations dictate the 'intention to publish the data obtained through iNEXT-Discovery access'. Applications for this access route can be submitted here after registration with Instruct-ERIC (Select the 'Industry-Publish' button at the bottom of the page).
3. 'STANDARD ACCESS' (also used for academics)
All iNEXT-Discovery access services are also open for researchers from the private sector. Following this procedure, company researchers that visit facilities can be reimbursed for their traveling, accommodation or shipment of samples (Access Guidelines).
EC regulations require registration and external peer-reviewing for every submitted access proposal, and the company applicants should intent to publish their obtained research data (except SMEs). More information is found here, your applications can be submitted here.
