The Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) invites applications for a tenure-track group leader position (assistant professor level) in Structural Biology. They encourage applications from candidates who have an innovative research program focused on mechanistic questions that are related to genome regulation, RNA metabolism, or protein homeostasis.

 

The position includes a generous start-up package including core funding, relocation expenses, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities. The institute also provides a career mentoring program and assistance with research grant applications.

 

The FMI is located in Basel, the third largest city in Switzerland, which has a vibrant cultural scene and is conveniently situated on the borders with France and Germany. Basel is the leading European hub for life sciences with many opportunities in academia, as well as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The city is home to a diverse international population and has several multilingual schools.
