- Expression and purification of proteins for biophysics, structure determination and high throughput assays
- Maintain a deep and broad knowledge of relevant scientific literature
- Display great ability to productively disseminate ideas across discipline- and Project-boundaries
- Communicate effectively in verbal presentations and in writing technical reports
- Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems to attain crucial Project goals
Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in biological science and preferably relevant post-doctoral experience.
- Practical experience of recombinant protein expression in several mature platforms including mammalian (stable and transients), insect cells and E.coli is essential. Strong practical experience in protein purification including IMAC, IEC, SEC, IEX, HIC, fusion protein cleavage technologies, use of AKTA system-based chromatography.
- Familiarity with high-throughput methods for assessing protein expression and purification yields and quality.
- A track record in delivering high impact results in protein science within academic or pharmaceutical industry settings as demonstrated through a strong publication history, supported by evidence of individual contributions to projects.
- Experience in the use of a range of biophysical methods, particularly in the context of assessing small molecule target engagement would be an advantage.
