A BBSRC-funded Postdoc Position in Structural Virology is available at the School of Biochemistry, University of Bristol, UK.
You will join a dynamic team investigating the functional and structural relevance of the free fatty acid binding pocket we discovered in the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein [1], using structural virology, biophysics and cell-based assays. The project builds on our previous success [1-8] and is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the groups of Adrian Mulholland (Chemistry), Andrew Davidson (Virology), Imre Berger (Biochemistry) and Paul Verkade (Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy).
Outstanding applicants have a strong background in protein biochemistry, biophysics and cryo-EM single-particle analysis or tomography. We welcome applications from enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a PhD (or about to obtain one) with a strong interest in inter-disciplinary molecular biology research to uncover fundamental mechanisms in a viral pathogen.
Application deadline: Monday 11th November 2024
