OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
●The successful candidate will perform routine assignments and protocols that are critical to the functioning and productivity of the Structural Biology group
● The successful candidate will manage the macromolecular crystallization facility and perform routine experiments
● The successful candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of improvements for routine procedures
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- General maintenance of the equipment and supplies of the macromolecular crystallization lab
- Under general supervision, performs a wide range of assigned research experiments with
efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail, such as robotic and manual crystallization experiments, tracking crystal growth, crystal handling and harvesting
- Performs calculations and basic analysis on experimental results and develops hypothesis
- Assist with synchrotron beamtime applications, paperwork, and logistics
- Coordinate with CRO on synchrotron data collection, data retrieval, and storage
- Maintains good laboratory and office records
- Support other functional areas within the Structural Biology group when needed
