The Elis lab has an opening for a postdoctoral fellowship, at the University of Minnesota, USA. The research at our lab combines structural biology, enzymology, bioinformatics, and microbiology. The project, funded by the DOE, is a collaborative effort to bioelectrocatalytically reduce CO2 into formate (please see more details here). The research will involve protein biochemistry, structural biology and protein design.
Environment: The lab is hosted in the BioTechnology Institute, a highly stimulating environment, extremely multidisciplinary with extensive opportunities to gain expertise in cutting edge methods and techniques. The Institute belongs to the University of Minnesota, founded in 1851 (https://twin-cities.umn.edu/). It is one of the largest university in the United States, and ranks amongst the most prestigious research universities. The campus is located in the heart of the Minneapolis-St Paul (Twin Cities) area, an enjoyable, affordable place, extremely rich in cultural events and natural attractions.
