A two-year post-doctoral position funded by the French National Cancer Institute (INCA) is available in the “Nuclear Receptors as Integrators of Endogenous and Environmental Signals” group lead by Albane le Maire and William Bourguet at the Center for Structural Biology (CBS) in Montpellier (France).
Project: The project aims at structurally characterizing new repressive complexes involved in the regulation of retinoic acid receptor (RAR) function and in its ability to immortalize primary cells, through the combination of various experimental (biochemical, biophysical and structural) and computational approaches and in collaboration with the groups of Pr Hughes de Thé (Collège de France, Paris) and Stéphane de Botton (Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif).
Candidate: The successful candidate should have a PhD in structural biology or biochemistry and a solid background in protein production and X-ray crystallography or cryo-electron microscopy.
Environment: The CBS is a dynamic research institute with an outstanding infrastructure covering all techniques for structural biology and biophysics including NMR, X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, advanced fluorescence and super-resolution microscopes, single-molecule manipulation, molecular and cell biology, and high-performance computation, allowing to carry out ambitious scientific projects by integrated and multi-scale approaches. Montpellier is a major biology area with a focus on basic research, biomedicine, plant biology and environmental science. Its science drive, the beauty of the region, its high quality of life, and the short commute to other major regional research areas (Paris, Grenoble, Toulouse, Lyon, Marseille) make it an ideal destination for scientists from all over the world.
Application: Applications and informal queries about the project and the lab should be addressed to Albane le Maire (albane.lemaire@cbs.cnrs.fr). Interested candidates should send their CV , a cover letter describing their research interests and motivation, and the two persons willing to write a recommendation letter.
