Postdoctoral positions are available in Chang Liu group in the Department of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University, a private research and education institute with an excellent research environment and superb research facilities. They study RAG recombinase genome-wide targeting and coronavirus-host interactions using a combination of structural biology (cryo-EM, cryo-ET, and X-ray crystallography), single-molecule biophysics, protein-nucleic acid biochemistry, genomics, and cell biology (related publications: Liu C, et al. Nature (2019); Liu C, et al. Science (2021); Liu C, et al. Nat Rev Immunol (2021)). They are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral applicants with strong expertise in structural biology, virology, immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field. The salary rate follows NIH and JHU guidelines.
Qualifications
1. Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in structural biology, virology, immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience in basic techniques (molecular cloning, cell culture, protein expression and purification, Western blot, flow cytometry, etc.).
3. Expertise in structural biology, particularly cryo-EM, is highly desirable; prior experience in RNA biochemistry or cryo-ET is a plus.
4. Candidates should be highly motivated, with good oral communication and written skills in English.
