A postdoctoral position available in at the John Innes Centre aiming to characterise the molecular machinery that expresses photosynthetic genes using cryo-EM.
The project: Our group seeks to understand the gene expression complexes that control how and when plants turn green in response to light. We recently determined the structure of the chloroplast RNA polymerase (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38428394/). We are looking for applicants with experience in protein purification and a strong enthusiasm for employing cryo-EM to work on the next phase of this project.
