A fully-funded Postdoc position is available in the group of Julie Welburn at the Wellcome Centre for Cell Biology at the University of Edinburgh. They are interested in understanding how motors and microtubules cooperate to ensure cell organization and faithful chromosome segregation.
They use a combination of techniques – cell biology, biochemical and biophysical approaches and structural biology - to investigate how tubulin isotype diversity control microtubule and motor function, and the molecular mechanism underlying dominant negative mutations in tubulin. The project will involve determining the structure and function of tubulin isotype-specific microtubules.
Please contact Julie Welburn with informal enquiries about the positions (julie.welburn@ed.ac.uk).
The closing date for applications is 11th January and full description of the post and how to apply can be obtained via this link.
