Job Title: Postdoctoral Scientist Duration: 2 years

There is an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Scientist Analytical Development (temporary)Are you a curious individual looking for a new challenge and are passionate about Analytical Development?Roche are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to join our project team investigating new analytical technologies, in particular the use of time domain NMR and qNMR concepts using a bechntop NMR system. The project work is performed at Roche Pharma Technical Development in Basel in the department 'Analytical Development and Quality Control Biotech Europe'.As Postdoctoral Scientist Analytical Development Biochemistry you are responsible for the following activities:Evaluate the use of time domain NMR and qNMR concepts using a bechntop NMR system as potential tool for the quality assessment of large moleculesDevelop, improve and potentially validate NMR methods for identification of large molecules and quantification of excipients as well as protein aggregatesPlan and monitor work packages to ensure efficient analytics and continuous improvement. This implies regular exchange with group members and representatives from other departments globally.Author development and potentially GMP documents, e.g. procedures, validation reports, publicationsFor this interesting challenge, you bring the following qualification:PhD in analytical or physical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or other relevant area Experience in NMR, specifically protein NMR essentialExperience in HPLC analytics and additional spectroscopic methods (eg Raman) considered an advantageSelf-motivated, proactive, responsible, result-oriented and an excellent team player Preparedness to apply novel software tools to increase efficiency in data handling is a plus, e.g. experience with statistical software like R, JMP, etc.Excellent communication skills in English and German (written and spoken)Salary range will be aligned with the Swiss National Fund recommendation for PostDoc scientists and range between 80,000 - 105,000 CHF per year depending on experience. Additionally, the position includes funding for consumables and travel (eg to conferences).
