We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Post-Doctoral researcher to join the NOVA School of Science and Technology (Caparica, Portugal) under the ERA Chair project, CryoEM@NOVA, funded by the HORIZON Europe Program.
The successful candidate will carry out research into the production and biophysical, biochemical and structural characterisation of biological macromolecules, with the aim of understanding and exploring structure-function relationships for the discovery of new drugs. A variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques will be used (electron cryo-microscopy, X-ray crystallography, molecular dynamics simulations, DSF, ITC, SPR, SAXS, etc.). Specifically, the current projects focus on studying the ability of Helicobacter pylori bacteria to adapt to pH levels through the characterisation of a pH-controlled urea channel and a cytoplasmic urease.
Application deadline: 12 November 2024
