Post-Doctoral Position in Cell Cutting-Edge Imaging of Study Sars-Cov-2 Cell Interactions: Institut Pasteur, Paris

Institut Pasteur, Paris, France
Application deadline: 30 Sep 2023

The postdoctoral position is available in Anne Brelot’s group, the Dynamics of Host-Pathogen Interactions Unit directed by Jost Enninga. Anne Brelot‘s research focuses on the dissection of viral entry processes with an emphasis on HIV and SARS-CoV-2.
The candidate will work on an interdisciplinary project that aims to study the entry pathways of SARS-CoV-2 using high-end technologies - live cell imaging and super-resolution SMLM. We will establish the organization of ACE2 at the cell surface and its distribution under changing parameters (cell types, variants, partners) in order to decipher how these parameters influence the viral entry route. This project will help understand how the virus interact with its host and identify promising antiviral targets.

This project is part of an exciting multidisciplinary project aimed at studying the ultra-structural organization of the virus/receptor(s) interactions and of the viral entry pathway by super-resolution microscopy linked to cryo-EM and cryo-CLEM microscopy, in collaboration with Anna Sartori-Rupp at the NanoImaging core facility (Matthijn Vos - NanoImaging Core - Research - Institut Pasteur) of Institut Pasteur.

Your qualification
The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in biology and documented experience in virology, cell biology and microscopy. The candidate should be able to interact with all members of the project consortium, composed of cell biologists, computer scientists, physicists, and biophysicists. Excellent interpersonal and scientific communication skills are expected.

Our Offer
Our unit is part of the Cell Biology and Infection department. We work in a dynamic and international team with a strong sense of collaboration.
The full-time position is open. Screening of applications will start as soon as applications are received. Funding by the Institut Pasteur for 3 years is already available. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the Institut Pasteur.

To apply, please send your complete application to anne.brelot@pasteur.fr including a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and the names of three references.
