About this position Are you a motivated researcher with a strong background in structural and cellular biology, and expertise in cryo-electron microscopy or cryo-electron tomography? UGA invites applications for a tenure-track Junior Professor Chair focused on the in situ study of cellular nanomachines and macromolecular complexes, particularly in the context of infections or cellular stress. As a Junior Professor at UGA, you will lead an independent research program at IBS, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to a vibrant international scientific community. You will also participate in teaching across undergraduate and master’s levels in biochemistry, structural biology, infectiology, immunology, advanced microscopy, and biology/AI interfaces. This tenure-track position includes a start date of November 1, 2025, with promotion to full professor expected within 3 to 6 years. The successful candidate will benefit from access to world-leading research infrastructures and opportunities for collaboration at local, national, and European levels.
Your role
· Develop and execute an ambitious research program integrating structural and cellular biology approaches.
· Supervise doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and contribute to advanced teaching activities.
· Secure competitive funding and foster collaborations within IBS and partner institutions.
· Promote open science principles through publication, data sharing, and outreach.
