A position is available for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at University College London, UK. The successful candidate will lead Cryo-EM structural studies of prion-like protein assemblies in neurodegenerative diseases and yeast model. The projects will involve an integrated protein biochemical, biophysical methods and structural approach. The position will be held within MRC Prion Unit at UCL under the supervision of Dr Wenjuan Zhang.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in structural biology, cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology or a relevant subject area. Extensive experience in protein purification and protein biochemistry are required. Training in Cryo-EM can be provided in the group. The candidate should be able to work independently and have good communication skills to work in a team.
The application deadline is 21st, March and the position is available immediately. The position is a 12 month fixed-term role in the first instance with possibility of at least 2-year extension.
