They are seeking candidates who can lead a research program under the broad goal of "understanding the molecular mechanisms of biological systems relevant to human health and disease". The search is not focused on any particular methodology, although structural biology and cryo-EM represent a core aspect of our departmental mission. The UNC Cryo-EM core currently houses a 200 keV Talos Arctica with a K3 DED and was recently awarded an NIH S10 grant to purchase a 300 keV cryo-TEM, slated to be installed in the next 18 months. Applicants leveraging cutting-edge cryo-EM methods are encouraged to apply.
