Structural & Biophysical Sciences – Biophysicist with SPR experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and independent laboratory based scientist with a passion for biophysics and analytical biochemistry approaches to join the UK Structural & Biophysical Sciences (SBS) Department at GSK. The position will be based at GSK’s state-of the-art Medicines Research Centre in Stevenage. The department’s remit is to support drug discovery across all therapeutic modalities at the heart of GSK by generation of decision-making biophysical and structural data using biophysical techniques such MS, NMR and SPR, coupled with X-ray crystallography and electron microscopy.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- You will be a key contributor to the group, working across a diverse biopharmaceutical and small molecule portfolio.
- Ideally you will have expertise in SPR and experience of several other biophysical techniques, as well as an interest in structural biology.
- With a proven track record of innovation and leadership in the application of these to solve complex scientific questions, you be eager to keep abreast of advancing methods and apply them to drive data quality and project success.
- Equally comfortable operating autonomously, or as part of dynamic matrix teams, you will look forward to working within a multidisciplinary, collaborative and fast-paced global environment.
- The ability to adapt and prioritise will be important attributes of the successful scientist. You will be expected to have good experimental record-keeping and excellent written and oral communication skills.
