We are looking for a cryoEM scientist to join our facility team. Working in the Astbury Biostructure Laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment and utilising your expertise in the field of cryo-electron microscopy, you will work on multiple projects as a single particle analysis expert in cryo-electron microscopy. Day-to-day you will be supporting projects through this pipeline from negative stain, cryoEM grid preparation and screening, data acquisition on our Titan Krios miroscopes with Selectris/Falcon4, and data processing. You will provide expert guidance, training and advice in areas covering sample preparation, optimisation, freezing and data acquisiton, as well as contribute to the interpretation of EM density maps.
You should have, or be close to completing a Ph.D. in Structural Molecular Biology and have a passion for studying biological mechanisms relevant to human disease. You will work closely, interactively and collaboratively with the facility team as well as the wider EM community and external partners, and so excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
