A position of Beamline Scientist of the BL13-XALOC Macromolecular Crystallography beamline at the Alba synchrotron (Barcelona) is currently open. Alba is seeking a positive, motivated scientist, with experience on beamline operation as well as on structural biology and keen to join the beamline team in an exciting environment. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the implementation of an innovative data collection method (EXPLORA grant from the Spanish administration) and in the continued beamline operation and implementation of upgrades. In addition, the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop her/his scientific research.
The beamline is equipped with state-of-the-art optics and end-station instrumentation including a MD2 high accuracy diffractometer, a CATS automatic sample changer and a Pilatus 6M detector. XALOC started user operation in 2012, and is currently performing high-quality X-ray crystallography data collections. More info on the beamline at.
