Francis Crick Institute are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to study the structural basis for proteolytic complexes activation and reprogramming by targeted protein degradation approaches in bacteria.
Targeted protein degradation, previously restricted to eukaryotic systems, has recently been established in bacteria by hijacking ClpCP complexes in Gram-positives and mycobacteria.
The aim of the postdoc project is to study the activation mechanisms of effector proteolytic complexes in vitro and in situ. The 4-year position will be based at the Francis Crick Institute in London, UK, within the Morreale group, focused on Targeted Protein Degradation and Antibiotic Research.
A strong background in structural biology and experience in cryo-EM will be essential.
