-------------------------------

The Helmholtz Cross Programme Activity "Structural Biology" (https://hsb.helmholtz-muenchen.de/) together with INSTRUCT organizes a training course on methods and application in integrative structural biology.

Date: November 7-11, 2016

Location: Helmholtz Center for Infection Research, HZI, Braunschweig, German. Information can be found here

The aim of this course is to provide theoretical and practical training in the evolving field of integrative structural biology. Key structural biology techniques are introduced with hands-on practical training. Lectures and keynote presentations will illustrate state-of-the-art examples for the combination of multiple structural biology techniques to study the structure and dynamics of biologically important and challenging systems.

The course will last for 5 days and will offer lectures by experts in the various techniques from internationally well-known scientific experts in the field in morning sessions. In the afternoon practical exercises using data from known experiments will be performed, with practical demonstrations and seminar. The focus of the course will be to present and review the utility of integrating several techniques in an integrative manner. The evening sessions will be present keynote lectures in structural biology.

This course will show the current state-of-the-art in structural biology techniques in several areas:

Sample preparation, SAXS/SANS, NMR, X-Ray, cryo-EM and cross-linking/mass spectrometry.
